Welcome to the 2011-12 school year at Norwich Elementary!  I am thrilled to serve as Principal at Norwich Elementary.

I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Capital University and a Masters degree from the University of Dayton in Educational Leadership.  Before coming to Norwich, I taught for six years as a second/third grade teacher at Alton Darby Elementary, and most recently was the Intervention Teacher at Horizon Elementary.

I am blessed with a wonderful family support system.  My wife is a pediatrician in Pickerington.  We have an incredibly happy son named Drew who brings great joy to our lives.  We reside in Gahanna to be close to our family.

I look forward to leading Norwich in ways that fosters continued growth in teaching, learning, community engagement, and social development.  As principal, I have the following goals:

-To use data properly to engage the school community in conversation and the development and implementation of best instructional practices that meet the needs of diverse learners and build 21st Century learning skills (creativity, collaboration, and communication) in students.

-To foster the Mission of school that aims at developing our students as caring and compassionate children, problem solvers, and lifelong learners.

-To promote the ideal that all students can learn when taught in unique ways and at different rates and to foster this ideal in teaching and learning.

-To promote communication and to be responsive to school community needs and concerns in a timely and respectful manner.

-To develop our school community as good stewards of the school building and grounds.

-To celebrate the unique history of Norwich and to collaborate with the school community to promote high standards in teaching that continues to challenge and support students and promotes high student achievement and the overall mission and vision of the Hilliard City School District.

-To take lots of time to get to know the students of Norwich individually and to celebrate their successes everyday!
