United States Landmarks Webquest
Your Mission: You are taking a trip to see some of the famous landmarks in the United States. Your job will be to find out or discover why each of these landmarks is important to us and what values the landmark represents.
Here are some of the words that you need to know.

symbol something that stands for or represents something else, especially an idea, quality, or condition: The lion is the symbol of courage; the lamb, of meekness; the olive branch, of peace; the cross, of Christianity
importance – the fact or quality of being important; consequence; value; significance:
ideal – the perfect type of excellence or beauty; highest ideal; model.
value – high worth; excellence, usefulness, or importance: the value of education, the value of milk as a food.
represent – to stand for; be a sign or symbol of: Letters represent sounds. The fifty stars in our flag represent the fifty states. A policeman represents the power of the law.
