Teacher Appreciation Week – Parents of Norwich, we will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week for our wonderful Teachers and Staff, May 7th – May 11th.  In order to make this week a true success we are asking for help from our appreciative parents!

We are asking for your gift of time, to cover teachers’ lunch time responsibilities either in the cafeteria, or during recess.  The staff really appreciate the rare downtime; it gives them a chance to regroup and it allows us parents the chance to visit our children on “their turf”.    We need two volunteers per session for the cafeteria, and three for recess.

Click the link below if you are able to gift your time the week of May 7 – May 11.  Thanks in advance for making this year’s TAW another wonderful PTO event.

Class Placement Process – As we look forward to the 2012-2013 school year, our staff is already working hard to begin looking at class placements. As always, the success of your child is at the center of our work and our class placement process reflects that. We are very dedicated to placing students in classrooms where they will be successful and work well with others. We know you know your child the best and we certainly value your input. Our staff looks at a multitude of characteristics when placing students in new classes. We look at achievement levels, study skills and work habits, behavior needs, personality, social emotional needs and other student interactions. We spend a great deal of time placing students in classrooms where they will be successful. We wanted to make you aware that we do have a ‘Parental Input on Student Placement’ form that can be completed if you have input you would like to provide about the unique needs of your child that would require special consideration in making a class assignment. Please understand that specific teacher requests will not be considered. This form can be picked up from our school office. All input must be in writing and submitted to the school office by Friday, May 4, 2012. All input forms and requests received after this date will not be considered. Class placements are not final until mid-August. Our staff will not be able to share information about your student’s placement until mid-August. Please keep in mind that specific requests CAN NOT be honored in August. Specific input must be received by our office on or before Friday, May 4, 2012. We look forward to the 2012-2013 school year and appreciate your understanding of our class placement process.
