Online Lunch with the Superintendent Focuses on 2020 Strategic Vision – Hilliard City Schools invites residents to another “Online Lunch with the Superintendent” on February 21 at noon.  This interactive community engagement opportunity allows residents to not only learn more about the district’s future, but to ask questions from top-level decision makers in the Hilliard City School District.

The February 21 session takes a closer look at the district’s 2020 initiative.  “This strategic vision has been the district’s blueprint for determining the knowledge, skills and educational experiences students need to compete globally in the 21st century,” said Superintendent Dale A. McVey.  “This ongoing focus provides a framework for how we educate students, where we allocate our resources and what our community expects from a truly high achieving school system.”

McVey will be joined by Executive Director of K-12 Curriculum and Instruction Steve Estepp.  The two will share information about the changing dynamics of today’s students and how Hilliard City Schools’ 2020 vision is implemented in classrooms.
Residents will be able to ask questions and see first-hand the direction the schools are headed and what public tax dollars are supporting.  To learn more about this opportunity visit the district’s website at www.hilliardschools.org/news/newsRelease.cfm?releaseID=020812.

Breakfast-  Just a
friendly reminder that breakfast is served daily at our school.  If your child
is approved for free or reduced price lunch, they also qualify for free or
reduced price breakfast.  The full price for breakfast is $1.25, and reduced
price is $.30.  Students may select a breakfast entrée, milk, and fruit side.
We have recently enhanced the items we offer for breakfast, including hot
breakfast sandwiches, homemade muffins, and yogurt smoothies.  Studies show that
children who acquire the breakfast habit early are more likely to maintain a
healthy weight, good grades, solid attendance, and overall performance.  It is
with this knowledge that we created a breakfast program to offer you a
convenient solution that will allow you to start your child’s day off right,
while taking something “off your plate”.  Breakfast is served at 9:05am, when
the building opens.
